Hazbin Hotel's Creator Is Aware of Fans' Season 2 Bingo Cards — With Some Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been intense.

Season 1 introduces a diverse group of characters residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner stated recently. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast the new season progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds now.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — particularly in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans create a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on the streaming service on October 29.
